A Gentle Reset, Any Time of Year : How Hawaiian Teas Support Your Daily Reset

Wellness isn’t about drastic change. It’s about simple and steady rituals that bring calm, clarity and balance. In Hawaii wellness begins with nature. From the fertile slopes of Mauna Kea to the misty ridges of Oahu, native botanicals like mamaki and olena (Hawaiian turmeric) have long been used to restore energy and harmony in traditional Hawaiian medicine (Uehara & Hwang, 2018).

Tea brings this tradition into the modern world. Each blend is crafted to hydrate, calm and refresh. It’s a natural way to reset any day of the year. As the functional beverage market continues to expand globally (Grand View Research, 2024) our island-grown teas stand out for their balance of science and aloha.

The Calm Power of Tea

Around the world, functional wellness has become a quiet movement. Studies show that regular tea consumption supports hydration, antioxidant defense and mental clarity.

A review published in Nutrients found that tea polyphenols can improve mood and focus while reducing oxidative stress (Pan et al., 2020). Similarly, Frontiers in Nutrition highlighted that caffeine-free herbal teas rich in antioxidants may help maintain calm and support the gut–brain connection (Frontiers in Nutrition, 2022).

Every sip of tea is both nourishment and ritual. This is a simple way to pause and realign.

Meet Mamaki: Hawaii’s Native Wellness Leaf

Mamaki (Pipturus albidus) is a plant found only in Hawaii. Traditionally used in Native Hawaiian medicine to support energy, digestion and circulation, modern research confirms its potent antioxidant profile(Uehara & Hwang, 2018).

A University of Hawaii study showed that mamaki leaves contain high levels of catechins and chlorogenic acid. These are compounds known to support cardiovascular and liver health (University of Hawai‘i CTAHR, 2015). These same catechins are also found in green tea and are recognized for their cancer-preventive and antioxidant effects (Yang & Wang, 2016).

Our Pure Mamaki tea is organically grown and sun-dried on the Big Island of Hawaii. With a clean, earthy taste and gentle vitality it’s a caffeine-free way to support daily wellness.

The Island Wellness Routine

Morning: Mana for Energy and Immunity
Begin your day with  Mana, a bright mamaki & hibiscus blend that awakens the body and supports immune strength.

Midday: Pure Mamaki for Hydration and Focus
Sip Pure Mamaki between meals to stay hydrated and balanced. Its antioxidants help protect cells while supporting gut comfort (Pan et al., 2020).

Evening: Nanea, Mahina, or Olena for Calm and Recovery
Wind down with mamaki blends Nanea for relaxation, Mahina for restful sleep, or Olena for soothing blends of chamomile, ashwagandha and turmeric to support  inflammation and restore calm.

Each blend is crafted to guide you through your day with intention from sunrise to rest.

From Green Tea to Island Tea

Green tea is celebrated for it’s antioxidants, especially one powerful compound called EGCG that helps protect your cells from damage (Cabrera et al., 2006), but Mamaki offers similar benefits without caffeine.  According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (2020), brewed green tea contains moderate caffeine levels but excellent hydration properties (USDA FoodData Central, 2020). Mamaki provides a gentle caffeine-free alternative that is hydrating, alkalizing, and easy on the stomach.

A Daily Ritual of Calm

Tea is a reminder to slow down. To breathe. To find balance in motion. Whether you start your day with energy or end it with quiet reflection your cup of tea becomes a simple act of renewal.
