One of the finest black teas. Abundant sunlight and rain in the region make for outstanding growing conditions and at 3200 feet sits the Vithanakanda Estate. The air is cool and crisp at this elevation so the bushes flush more slowly. Slower growth allows nutrients in the plants to build within the leaves making for a tastier cup. Smaller production runs combined with superior cultivation and processing techniques have allowed this estate’s teas to fetch consistently high chest prices at the Colombo auctions.
The dark amber infusion is like a fine ale. The complex taste is a melange of honey and fruit. Full-bodied with impressive smoothness. Nice caffeine content for breakfast or afternoon pick-me-up.
